June 19th - Summer Solstice party report

Junkchun Ten set off for Wiltshire at around 7pm, arriving at the meeting point in Amesbury around 8.30. At this time all still seemed well.
We already new we couldn't get any where near the stones, a 'hard hit' area was being enforced by Wiltshire police, we couldn't go within four miles of Stonehenge.
Not a problem we thought, and headed off for a site around 8 miles away (well out of the 'hard hit area'). We arrived at the bottom of the track to the site, other systems (Mutant Dance, Dionosis, Wobbleberry and Stinky Pinky) were already at the site. We couldn't get to them! Police had vans blocking all access and a helicopter flying over head. We got news that two systems had been banned from the county and the police were not going to let the party go ahead. Back to the meeting point to re-group and re-think.

As we pulled in to the car park, there were loads of cars and party people. Unfortunatley a fair amount of police, but they stayed to the edges of the car park. The atmosphere was good, people were not going to let them stop a party happening. We got news of a new site where a system had already been set up. We started to make our way their.

We didn't get very far before being pulled by the police, they wern't to friendly and basicaly asked us to leave Wiltshire. We carried on for a bit before being
pulled a second time. By this time we were running out of petrol and money to continue due to this and the polices atitude on the second pulling, the best bet was to head back to Reading.

Although we didn't manage to pull off a party on Saturday night, we did manage to do one Sunday night! Thanx to those of you that came at such short notice!
